Cat Lee, 24, is gearing up to run an unbelievable 1000 kilometres across Northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago trail. The challenge aims to raise £1,000 for our fight for every heartbeat in honour of her father.
Cat decided to use her fitness ability in order to support those living with heart conditions after losing her father, Patrick Lee, to a heart attack when she was younger.
Going the distance
Cat will be running between 20 - 25 kilometres each day over the course of two months to complete the 1,000k distance.
Cat said; “Running this distance will really push my body in a manner that people suffering from heart disease may not be able to.
“The amazing work that the BHF does and my own experience of the devastating effects of heart disease has inspired me to take on this challenge to help support their life saving research and stop premature deaths from heart disease.”
The challenge will start in southern France, taking Catherine across the Pyrenees and finishing in Camino de Santiago. While the traditional route is 790k, Catherine will be extending her journey to Finisterre and back to Santiago to achieve her goal of 1,000k.
You can follow Cat’s journey on her blog and through her social media. Cat has also set up a JustGiving page for those who want to sponsor her.
