Our Refund Policy

Changed your mind?

Under our goodwill returns policy we’re happy to exchange or refund most items within 30 days of purchase.  Any refund or exchange is offered entirely at our own discretion and all items must be returned with your original receipt (or other proof of purchase) in the same condition as when you purchased them, with the BHF price ticket attached (if applicable).

Sorry we can't give refunds on:

CDs, DVDs, Videos, Computer Games, Books, Earrings, Underwear or Swimwear unless they are faulty.

Donated furniture and electrical items

The majority of our stock is generously donated by members of the public.  We check all our donations for condition and safety and you must carefully check the condition of the item(s) you are interested in buying.

Faulty items

A lot of what we sell is second hand, so it may not be in perfect condition.  Where items are of unsatisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or don’t fit their description or sample then we will refund or exchange in line with our usual policy.  This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

Your receipt

It is our policy to issue a receipt for the goods you purchase. If you do not receive one, please ask. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase.

Accepting cheques

We are unable to accept cheques as payment for goods in our standard clothing shops.  We are able to accept cheques as payment for goods in our furniture and electrical stores provided you can give proof of your identity – for example, driver’s licence, passport and/or utility bill.  We’re also happy to receive payment for house clearances, donations, in memoriam gifts and fundraising monies in cheque form.

Refund by the same means

We are only able to refund an item in the same way that the purchase was made. In particular, we will need to refund the same credit/debit card used for your original purchase.

Storage of purchased furniture and electrical items

If you are unable to take delivery of your furniture and electrical item(s) within seven days of purchase then, at the store manager’s sole discretion, we may permit you to store your item(s) in our warehouse. You must provide a contact address and telephone number and arrange delivery/collection as soon as possible and in any event within two months of the purchase date.  If your item(s) is/are not collected or delivered within two months then we reserve the right to end our contract with you by writing to you at the address provided to arrange a refund of the price paid for your undelivered item(s). By using our storage facilities you agree to these terms and conditions.  If you do not agree to the terms and conditions then you will not be able to use our storage facilities.
