Keeping to a healthy weight and body shape can help protect you against type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as lower your cholesterol.

In England 68 per cent of men and 58 per cent of women are overweight or obese.

In England the highest number of overweight or obese can be found in the West Midlands and the lowest proportion is in London.
