Staff and volunteers at the Clapham Junction BHF shop have been announced as the winner of this year’s BHF shop of the year competition.
The announcement was marked at the shop on St John's Road where the hard-working staff and volunteers were presented with the award by Jane Ellison, MP for Battersea and joined in their celebrations by Jane and BHF’s Retail Director, Mike Taylor.
The shop, which has been open for 21 years, received the award after a very successful year of trading which included a record profit, increased stock donations from local supporters and providing further CPR training for staff and volunteers.
Ricky Cheung, Shop Manager said: "I'm so proud of all the team here at our Clapham Junction shop for making this amazing win possible. The team of 41 staff and volunteers have worked incredibly hard over the last year to make sure the shop continues to be a success and that we help as much as possible in the fight for every heartbeat. Every pound we raise in the shop helps to fund even more life saving heart research across the country."
Mike Taylor, Retail Director at the BHF said: "This is a wonderful achievement for the Clapham Junction BHF shop and I'd like to say a massive congratulations to the team as their hard work and dedication to the cause really is amazing. We'd especially like to thank the local community in Clapham Junction who help make the shop such a success and raise vital funds for the BHF’s pioneering heart research – we simply could not do this without your generosity and support."
