Organisations across England are being invited to sign up to the first Workplace Health Week between 18th and 22nd May to improve employee health and raise vital funds to help us fight heart disease.

The week-long event, organised by Workplace Challenge, will see employees across the country take part in a range of fun activities designed to get the nation’s workforce moving more.  

As part of Workplace Health Week, employees can sign up to the Midday Mile on Wednesday 20th May and walk, jog, run or cycle a mile to raise money for our life-saving research.

Participants can donate £3 to the BHF by texting ‘MILE’ to 70123 or can give to collections taking place at the events.

Improving your heart health

Lisa Young, Project Manager of our Health at Work programme, said: “We are delighted to be the official charity partner for the Workplace Challenge Midday Mile. Cardiovascular disease kills more than 160,000 people in the UK every year which is why its vital we do everything we can to protect ourselves against these devastating conditions.

“Keeping physically active can help significantly reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, but it’s clear that as a nation we need to be moving more.

“The Workplace Challenge Midday Mile conjures a fantastic vision –employees across the country flooding out of their workplaces at the same time for a short burst of healthy, energising activity. By taking part, workers can help improve their heart health and raise vital funds for our life saving research.”

How to sign up

There will be 39 Midday Mile events taking place across the country for organisations to sign up to. Business can also organise their own event.
