Man and woman cycling London to Brighton

Good news everyone – you can burn off tens of thousands of calories all by just getting on your bike this spring.

As we gear up for our 39th London to Brighton Bike Ride this June, we can reveal that through training for the event and taking part in the ride itself, the average female cyclist will burn a whopping 31,240 calories and the average male cyclist 36,960 calories.

Burning more calories than you are taking in will also help with weight loss. For women, an energy deficit this big could help to lose nearly nine pounds of fat, or 10.5 pounds for men.

Take part, get fit and power research

Take part in Europe’s oldest and largest charity bike ride, you’ll also be helping to raise funds for the our life-saving research into heart disease, which affects millions of people in the UK.
