A Property Consultant from Eastbourne has won a national photography competition which will take her across the world on commission to photograph one of our overseas fundraising challenges.

Sarah Willingham, 38, a keen amateur photographer, won the competition with a sensational panoramic photograph of the South Downs, an area which fundraisers walk through on the annual London to Brighton Trek.

Sarah said: "I was totally blown away to hear that I had won the competition. I have been a keen amateur photographer for the last three or four years and this is the first competition I have entered after being encouraged by a friend, so I am absolutely thrilled."

Sarah’s prize is a commission to photograph a trek or bike ride of her choice from one of four overseas fundraising events in Africa, Nepal or India.

The competition was run in partnership with Digital Camera Magazine. Entrants were tasked with photographing some of the UK's most beautiful countryside in areas where we run our series of fundraising hikes and treks.

The runners up of the competition who have each won a place on one of our UK challenges are:

  • Stephen Hollin: Image of Win Hill, Peak District
  • Mark Lister: Image of Grinton, Yorkshire Dales
  • Mark Colledge: Image of Hadrian’s Wall
  • Louis Tierney: Image of Kinder Reservoir, Peak District
