Our Fundraising Volunteers

Our fundraising volunteers are the face of the BHF in their local communities. They raise awareness of heart and circulatory diseases and how our work is tackling them. Most importantly, by raising money for the BHF’s life-saving research, you will help keep hearts beating and blood flowing - and this will help keep families together for longer.

How we support you

  • Your local fundraising manager can support and introduce you to other volunteers locally
  • Our Customer Service Centre has a support team to provide you with materials
  • Our ‘Volunteer Fundraising Zone’ is easy to use and full of tips and resources.


Our fundraising groups

We have groups across the UK, but if there isn't already one in your area, we encourage our volunteers to set up their own!

Groups receive support and resources from our local BHF managers, but what's great is that our groups get the chance to be self-directive. They choose how often to meet up and organise a range of events; from cash collections and pub quizzes to bake sales and bike rides. They also introduce the BHF to schools, community groups and businesses in their local area.

 

Individual volunteer roles

If you enjoy going to new places and meeting new people, you could train to become a BHF speaker and give talks to local groups and schools.

Or, if you prefer to work independently, you could oversee the allocation of important collection tins in your local area to help raise money. We also need volunteers to act as 'in-memoriam secretaries' and administer donations from funeral homes and thank families on behalf of the BHF.
