Funding for defibrillators in England

The two types of defibrillator

We were delighted to have been awarded a further £1m from the Department of Health in November 2016 to make public access defibrillators and CPR training more widely available in communities across England.

If you would like to follow up an existing application, please contact us on [email protected]

Due to high demand we have now closed the funding to new applications.

Unfortunately we don’t currently have funding available for Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and community first responder schemes.

This funding follows the Government’s commitment to invest a further £1m to improve defibrillator availability as announced in the March 2016 Budget.

We have been supported in the management of this project by a network of charities and organisations concerned with improving the UK’s low survival rate from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, including Arrhythmia Alliance, the Resuscitation Council (UK), the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, NHS England and the Department of Health.
