18th June 2017
Leave the buzz of the busy London streets behind and enjoy the stunning Surrey and Sussex countryside before hitting the Brighton Beach for an amazing after party. Celebrating with fellow riders, family and friends, not only the challenge, but also the money you'll have raised to help us fund more life saving research.
Our London to Brighton Bike Ride has run for over 40 years, and has built up fantastic support along the 54-mile route, with local communities cheering on our riders and offering refreshments all the way to Brighton, helping you power over the finish line.
Location and travel
Getting to the start
On the day of the bike ride, Southern Railway and Thameslink will not be accepting bikes. Make sure you think ahead and plan your travel arrangements well in advance.
Our coach service
We'll be offering a coach service to drop you off at the start or pick you up from the finish line. Tickets cost £27 each and you can book them through our online shop.
Coaches will run as and when they're full so you won't need to book onto a particular service - this also means you don't need to wait for your start time to arrange your travel.
Before the bike ride
Services to Clapham Common, London leave from Madeira Drive, Brighton between 04.30 and 06.30
After the bike ride
Services to Clapham Common, London leave from Hove Lawns, Brighton between 12.00 and 19.30
You'll travel separately from your bike and bubble wrap will be available for you to pack your bike.
Your entry includes
- Dedicated fundraising and event support from our Heart Rider support team.
- Regular event updates, including a welcome pack, crammed with event information and fundraising support.
- Training advice from our partners at British Cycling.
- Traffic free and closed road sections on the route, including extended sections within London.
- Fully supported route including medical support and static and roving mechanical assistance.
- Exclusive finishers medal.
- Access to the L2B after party on the beach.
Riders aged 14-17 years old
The bike ride is a family event so we welcome riders aged 14 and above. You'll need to have consent from your parent or guardian to take part in the ride, which is part of the registration process.
So you can have the most enjoyable experience, you'll set off at your pre-allocated start time based on your cycling ability. If you're riding with a team, don't worry, we'll make sure you're allocated the same start time as your team mates.
This year we've also limited the number of riders on the route to reduce congestion so you really can coast to the coast.
