The world's biggest killers are under our microscope
Because we want a world without heart and circulatory diseases. A world without heartbreak. To keep hearts beating and blood flowing, we fund research into all heart and circulatory diseases, and their risk factors.
Heart and circulatory conditions kill 1 in 4 people in the UK. And conditions like heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia and their risk factors like diabetes have more in common than you might think.
It starts with your heart
Over the last 50 years, as our knowledge of the heart has grown, so has our understanding of everything connected to it. To find cures and treatments, our researchers always look at the bigger picture. Why is it that if you have diabetes, you’re more likely to develop coronary heart disease? If you have heart failure, why are you more likely to have a stroke?
We’ve been funding research into these conditions for years, but it’s time we started talking more about the whole picture. To put it simply, if your heart isn’t beating properly, and if your blood isn’t flowing properly - you’re in trouble.
We fund over £100 million of research into heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors to protect the people you love. Your children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and closest friends.
And with your support, we can beat heartbreak forever.
