Airbus UK

Airbus UK has joined the fight for every heartbeat by aiming to raise an incredible £200,000 to fund CPR kits.

We are delighted to have been chosen as Airbus’ Charity of the Year for 2017 and 2018.

This two year partnership aims to raise over £200,000 to help the us deliver on its “Nation of Lifesavers” campaign. Surviving a sudden cardiac arrest is a vital area of work for the BHF, and we have ambitious targets to provide CPR training to over 15 million people across the UK by 2020. We cannot achieve this target however without the support of local and national companies and their employees.

We are delighted that Airbus staff will not only be learning CPR skills themselves but they will also be funding CPR training in local secondary schools across North Wales, Cheshire and Bristol. Through fundraising activities Airbus hope to raise enough funds to purchase 200 CPR training kits consisting of 30 reusable inflatable manikins, watch & learn DVDs, cleaning wipes and replacement parts in handy carry cases. Airbus’ fantastic contribution will be felt across their communities and will directly impact and improve survival rates to help save lives today. Airbus staff also have the opportunity to learn more health and wellbeing and how to make lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Fundraising activity

Together we have created a fantastic calendar of events to ensure all Airbus can get involved and have some fun to raise the vital funds we need to beat heart disease and help save lives. Not only will Airbus staff be taking part in our flagship fundraising activities such as Dechox, Bag It Beat It and Wear It Beat It but they have been holding their own fundraisers across both their UK sites in Bristol and Broughton/Chester.

Mark Stewart and Paul McKinlay from Airbus had this to say about our partnership:

“Supporting charity and fundraising is very much in the Airbus DNA. The partnership with BHF is a fantastic opportunity which not only complements this but also underpins the very important role we have as a responsible employer to promote and encourage a healthy and active workforce. This is something we take extremely seriously and to have a partner charity which has that shared objective is a huge benefit. I am confident both Airbus and BHF will reap many rewards from our alliance and I look forward to seeing the results.”

Mark Stewart - General Manager and HR Director

“Airbus has a long and successful history working in partnership with charities and I am delighted that 2017 and 2018 will see us working closely with the BHF. Airbus employees work tremendously hard on many varied fundraising events and I look forward to seeing what their creativity will bring for the BHF partnership. I have no doubt regardless of the challenge, our employees will rise to it and make a significant contribution to the brilliant work BHF does to stop people suffering from cardiovascular disease.”
