From my heart to yours, by Patricia Rose

Patricia Rose

Patricia Rose wrote these poems to help others with heart problems. She says: "I’ve found that writing poetry helps me to think positively – especially when I am writing with others in mind, to give them hope."

Hope

Hope is like a letter

That is coming through the post,

It hasn't yet arrived

But it's what you look for the most.

It could hold all the answers

To a dream you've had for years,

It could hold out a promise,

Or it could confirm your fears.

But as long as it's still coming

You know that you can cope,

You know you can keep going

As long as there is hope.

Clouds

Clouds can look their darkest

When they are looming over you,

But clouds are made to come to pass -

And come to pass they do.

The clouds will pass and you will see

Blue skies are on their way,

Bringing you a ray of sunshine

That will warm your heart today.

Determination

Keep on looking forward

To the day you hold your dream,

And you will find that nothing

Is quite as bad as it may seem.

Let your determination

Keep a single minded track,

Then you will find in the future

There are no tears looking back.

Success has many followers,

Whereas failure has only a few,

But you will never fail

As long as you believe in you.

Just keep looking forward

With hope and you will find

It’s by far the greatest healer

Of the heart, and of the mind.
