Hearty Lives Liverpool is a £200,000 partnership with Heart of Mersey, part of the Health Equalities Group. It will tackle health inequalities in Liverpool through helping looked-after young people improve their health.
The Hearty Lives Liverpool project will:
- Carry out research to fully understand the health behaviours of looked after children and young people in Liverpool
- Help looked after children and young people aged 11-18 years reduce their risk of CVD by focussing on healthy eating, physical activity and smoking
- Train carers, foster carers, social workers and residential homes to help them increase the support they give to looked after young people to improve their lifestyles.
