Craigavon is classed as the 4th most deprived local government district in Northern Ireland, with life expectancy for male travellers 15 years less than for the general population and 11.5 years less for traveller women.
Working in partnership with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Craigavon Council and other local services the project will deliver a range of support to these communities to reduce health inequalities over the next three years.
Our Aim
- offer cardiovascular risk assessments and advice to Irish Traveller and migrant worker communities
- help people at risk to access local health improvement programmes
- improve knowledge and awareness of heart conditions in the community
