Networking Events

London Heart Support Group event - workshop discussion

We know how important it is to meet and share ideas with other Heart Support Groups.

Find out about how you can get involved with our annual networking events.

Our regional Heart Support Group networking events give you and your group the opportunity to meet other Heart Support group members and share ideas.

The events provide a supportive environment for groups to discuss any problems they may be facing and work together with other groups to overcome them.

Regional Events 2018

After the success of the past two years we have more regional events planned just for you. They're a great way to meet other Heart Support Group members, share ideas and hear about the latest in cardiac research. As always they are completely free to attend and we will cover all reasonable travel costs.

Dates for upcoming events will be posted in early 2018.

Regional Events 2017

London Heart Support group event - group discussions In 2017, four regional events were held in Bristol, Leicester, London and Sheffield. Over 65 members from 41 different Heart Support Groups attended and it was wonderful to see so many of you there, exchanging ideas and supporting one another.

During the events groups had the opportunity to share their successes of the past year and discuss any difficulties they may be facing. We also went a delved into the digital realm this year with groups showcasing their webpages and social media pages to one another and offering advice to those looking to set one up. Groups also got involved in helping us develop the new heart support group webpages which we hope will go live in 2018.

Lab Visits

2017 saw us host Heart Support Group Lab visits for the very first time. The visits were held at University College London and Manchester University. Both visits were hosted by leading BHF professors who gave presentations outlining the fascinating research they and their team were carrying out, followed by a tour around the facilities enabling HSG members to see how the research is carried out first hand.

The visits were greatly received and we are intending to run more of these visits in 2018 so do keep an eye on this page for any updates.
