Leading the fight in Wales
We work closely with the Welsh Government, National Assembly for Wales, Local Government, Health Boards and other Welsh organisations to advise them on health policy and developments in heart and circulatory disease.
Heart and circulatory disease causes around 8,800 deaths each year, that is more than a quarter of all deaths in Wales (28 per cent). An average of 25 people each day.
We campaign to make sure people living with, dying from and at risk of heart disease receive the best care and support possible.
Our work in Wales
We will be working closely with key decision makers, other local charities, healthcare professionals and thousands of dedicated campaigners to fight against heart disease. Focusing on:
- Championing prevention through tobacco restriction and air pollution reduction
- Ensuring CVD (cardiovascular disease) is seen as a priority by government and the NHS
- Improving access to learning CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and how to save a life
- Championing good quality care for people living with heart conditions in Wales
