Recycling to save lives
T.M.Lewin partnered with us to operate a recycling service to enable their 90+ UK stores to recycle any garments which cannot be sold. The partnership has reduced T.M.Lewin's waste and it provides our shops with regular donations of high quality shorts and tailoring.
In the UK, we send 700,000 tonnes of clothing to be reused or recycled each year but a further 350,000 tonnes (worth around £140 million) of used clothing still goes to landfill.
The partnership with T.M.Lewin has raised over £160,000 since December 2013.
Fighting for every heartbeat together
Staff at T.M.Lewin have also supported our work by donating their own unwanted items and taking part in fundraising events, including the Virgin Money London Marathon and the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
Geoff Quinn, T.M.Lewin CEO says:’ As an organisation, we’re very proud to be joining the British Heart Foundation in its fight for every heartbeat. The team here has expressed great enthusiasm for this worthy cause and it will be great to see the results of all their enthusiasm and commitment".
