Patient involvement at the BHF

workshop discussion

Want to use your experience of heart disease to inform our research funding decisions and help shape our work? Join Heart Voices, our growing network of heart patients who are sharing their unique perspectives to make a difference.

What is Heart Voices?

We know that your experience of heart disease puts you in a unique position to understand what heart patients need and want.

By joining Heart Voices and sharing your experiences, you'll help us ensure BHF's work better meets these needs.

For example, you could help us:

It was always a pleasure to be involved and has given me a huge amount. Everyone showed tremendous energy and commitment

Angela, Heart Voices member

  • improve our support services
  • inform our policy statements
  • review progress of projects as they develop
  • influence our research funding decisions

What can I expect once I join Heart Voices?

By signing up we'll keep you updated on the different opportunities on offer. You can get involved in as much or as little as you like, and with a wide range of opportunities you’ll be sure to find something that suits you.

For instance, you could:

  • attend a discussion group
  • complete a survey
  • join a steering group

We’ll send you our regular Heart Voices newsletter every two months to let you know about the latest opportunities and give you updates on our projects.

By getting involved you'll also have the chance to meet other people who have had similar experiences to you.

In the meantime, help spread the word and invite other people affected by heart disease to join Heart Voices too.
