Join Newcastle Stampede for a 10k Adventure run with a difference. Organised by Newcastle Racecourse, is partnership with ODFC Fitness, take on either Saturday or Sunday and tackle obstacles including water wipeout, hay bay hurdle and gladiator gauntlet to power our life saving research. 

Also back for 2016 is our Mini Stampede, a one mile obstacle course for under 16's.

Stampede - 10k challenge

This event is organised by Newcastle Racecourse, and ran by ODFC fitness, in support of the British Heart Foundation.

Take part on either the Saturday or Sunday and complete the muddy 10k course. You must be over 16 to take part.

Mini Stampede

The Mini Stampede will take place on Saturday 22 October and is for children between 5 - 15 years old. This one mile course will still offer a challenge with plenty of obstacles and lots of mud. Children aged between 5 - 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Download an entry form and send it back to us.

Getting there by car

Easily accessible from A1. Follow signs for Gosforth Park.

There is free parking available for participants and spectators. Please follow the signs to Car Park B on the day. 

The East Gate will be closed from 08:00 and all traffic will be directed to the West Gate after this time

Make sure you have the right kit

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a running event. Trainers and ventilated tops ar recommended - you will be given an event t-shirt on the day. Take a look at our recommended running kit list for what to wear on the day and what to bring with you. You'll receive your participant number in the post just before the event.

Get your family and friends involved

Your family and friends could be part of the action as well. Why not ask them to take part with you, or they could come and help on the day. Volunteers are vital in making our events a success.

You'll receive an exclusive event t-shirt, chip timing and finishers medal all as part of entry.

You will receive a safety briefing upon arrival and the course is fully marshaled for your safety, with first aid support provided.

This event is not suitable for wheelchair users or runners with electronic hearing devices. Participants with existing medical conditions should consult their doctor before registering. 

There are separate changing tents for both males and females. Lockers will be available on the day.

Junior Stampedes

A challenging one mile obstacle course, taking place on Saturday 22 October, for under 16's only. Entry includes a medal and event t-shirt for all under-16 finishers. Please note no timing chips will be issued for the Junior Stampedes.

Junior Stampede 5-9

This event is open to children, aged 5-9 years old only. Junior Stampeders MUST be accompanied by an adult and will receive 2 race numbers (one for adult, one for child). Please note accompanying adults will not receive a t-shirt or medal.

Varsity Stampede 10-15 

This event is open to 10-15 year olds only. Varsity Stampeders MUST have consent form signed by an adult in order to take part.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome and disabled facilities are available. Spectators are advised to be prepared for wet and muddy conditions.

Guide dogs and well behaved dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
