Terms and conditions

1. This competition is promoted by British Heart Foundation, whose registered business address is Greater London House, 180 Hampstead Road London, NW1 7AW (“Promoter”).

2. All entrants that sign up to the London to Brighton Bike Ride 2017 by 1st March 2017 will be entered into a draw to win a prize. If you do not want to be entered into the draw please contact us at [email protected] or call on 0300 456 8355.

3. Entrants may enter the draw for free by post without payment by sending your name, address and contact telephone number on a postcard to: L2B, BHF, Lyndon Place, 2096 Coventry Road, Sheldon, Birmingham, B26 3YU between midnight on 1 February 2017 – midnight on 28 February 2017. 

4. Entry into the draw shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

5. The prize is a new bike up to the value of £800 and a cycle helmet up to the value of £20, courtesy of Tesco PLC (“the Prize”).  Once the winner has been selected, they must inform the Promoter of their preferred bike frame size. The Promoter will purchase the bike once the bike has been agreed. 

6. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the entrant as a result of entering the draw or accepting the Prize, including selection of the bike frame. 

7. The Prize is subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

8. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equal or greater value should circumstances outside its control make this necessary.

9. The Promoter reserves the right to change the Prize or cancel the draw at any time.

10. The Prize draw is only open to entrants aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom.

11. Only one entry per person and per household is permitted.

12. The winner will be drawn at random on 2 March 2017 and notified by 3 March 2017. 

13. The first drawn will win the Prize.  Only the winner will be notified and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter's decision is final and binding in all matters.

14. If the winner cannot be contacted by 4th April or decide to decline the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to select a substitute winner at random. 

15. The Prize will be delivered to the winner within 30 days of notification. Delivery will be organised between the winner and the Promoter once the bike has been agreed. 

16. Employees of the Promoter and/or those associated with the operation or promotion of the competition or Prize draw, including without limitation the provider of the Prize (Tesco PLC) are ineligible to enter. Any such entries are invalid.

17. The Promoter will not be responsible for any delay or failure of any postal entries to be delivered by the entry deadline or any incomplete entries received.

18. The name of the winner will be made available 30 days after the draw date for a 14 day period by sending a SAE to: British Heart Foundation, London to Brighton Competition, Greater London House, 180 Hampstead Road, London, NW1 7AW.

19. Any data collected is for Prize draw purposes and to contact and notify the winner only.

20. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.

21. The winner may be required to become involved in future publicity and photographs of the winner may be used by the Promoter in press, communication and promotional materials.

22. Entrants shall be responsible for ensuring that the contact details they provide are up to date and accurate and by entering the Prize draw you warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete.

23. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it reasonably believes that an entrant does not meet any applicable eligibility criteria set out in these Terms and Conditions.

24. No responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for entries lost, delayed, mislaid, or not received due to technical or unforeseen errors. 

25. The Promoter may request evidence of age or any other applicable eligibility criteria from entrants before awarding the Prize. 

26. These Terms and Conditions are to be interpreted in accordance with English Law and any dispute arising out of these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
