Taking part in a British Heart Foundation event

How should I pay in my sponsorship to the British Heart Foundation?

Online

The easiest way to raise sponsorship is to set up an online fundraising page. Your supporters can donate securely online using a credit or debit card and their donation will be automatically paid to the British Heart Foundation.

Paying in offline sponsorship

Our paying-in page will give you all the information you need to sending in your sponsorship to us.

When will online registration close?

We close online registration as soon as an event fills, so it's best to sign up early. If we're able to, we generally accept online registrations up to the Tuesday before a weekend event.

How will I know if I have registered successfully?

A simple way to confirm that we have received your payment is to check your bank or credit card statement. If the payment has been taken, you will have been registered. Prior to the event you will receive a welcome pack, which also confirms your registration.

If you registered online, you should also receive an email registration confirmation. Try checking your spam folder if you can't find the email.

If the payment hasn't been taken from your bank account, please call the supporter care team on 0845 130 8663 for assistance.

How can I register the rest of my team or family members?

Ask your team members to register individually on our website, making sure to note your team name and team leader’s name in the space provided. They will each need to register with a separate email address. If you wish to pay for your team's entry in full, please phone the supporter care team on 0845 130 8663 for assistance.

Guardians wishing to register children should also phone the supporter care team on the number above to request an entry form.

What happens if it rains?

Our events are designed to be challenging and most will still go ahead even if there is rain. Events may be cancelled if there is unavoidable flooding on the route or there are severe weather warnings.

How will I know if the event is cancelled?

If we have to postpone an event for any reason you will be contacted via email. We'll also keep the event's page on our website up to date, so keep checking back for news.

I am registered for an event but I am no longer able to take part - what are my options?

We don't offer refunds for most event. It's sometimes possible to transfer to another event of the same price or to transfer to next year’s event. For further details about your event please call the supporter care team on 0845 130 8663.

What does my entry fee cover?

Your entry fee covers the costs for us to set up, promote and run the event for you safely. Our challenges are sponsored fundraising events. Funds raised go towards our vital work fighting heart disease. We want to stop heart disease tearing families apart.

Why is my number 200 and my husband’s is 200001?

Participant numbers are randomly allocated. You will still be able to take part in the event with your friends and family regardless of your number.

I have a disability, can I take part?

Some of our events are physically quite demanding so if you have a disability and would like to take part in one of our events please call our customer services team on 0845 130 8663, who will be able to offer guidance on whether the event is suitable for you.

If you are unable to take part in one of our events but would still like to be involved, we are always looking for volunteers to help us on the day. If you would like to help please contact the supporter care team.
