I had an operation when I was ten days old.
It took seven hours and Mum and Dad had a shock because I came out with my chest still open because my heart and lungs had swelled up.
I needed more operations when I was four and six.
I don’t like it when I have to keep having more operations, but I am dealing with it.
This year has been better. I missed my last two school sports days because of my operations but I took part this year.
I came last in lots of the races but I didn’t mind. I still loved it.
Mum said I had the biggest smile on my face.
I love football and tennis. When I went to a football party with my friends I scored a goal. It felt like I’d scored in the World Cup.
I know I’m going to need more operations because I have a special heart. Sometimes I wish I had a normal heart like my brother and sister. But I know other kids like me and I’m not alone.
I’ve missed a lot of school but I still love being there.
