When I was born Mum wanted to take me home but she couldn’t because I had a heart condition the doctors didn’t see very often.
I needed an operation quickly. I was ten days old.
It took seven hours. Mum and Dad were shocked when I came out with my chest still open because my heart and lungs had swelled up.
I had another operation when I was four and another at six. It was hard because I missed my friends and I missed lots of school.
I am now 12 years old and last year I found out that I would need a fourth operation on my heart.
I was scared but I knew I needed it. I want to be able to play football, and to be faster at swimming than my little brother Ollie.
This time I also decided to film my journey. I wanted people to see what it is like to have a ‘special heart’ like me.
All my family got involved with filming including my sister and little brother. The films were on Facebook and lots of people commented wishing me luck.
Professor Massimo Caputo did my operation. He operated on me for over ten hours while I was asleep. He is my hero.
Sometimes I wish I had a normal heart like my brother and sister. But I know other kids like me and I’m not alone.
I know I will need more surgery in the future. But I am back at school now. This is my last year before starting secondary school. I have also started football training too, which I love.
