Changes to the online community

The BHF is setting up a new online community using HealthUnlocked – an online space where you can connect with others to get advice, support or simply chat with people who understand your perspective.

This will be a brand new community offering a much better experience, alongside the ability to connect with thousands of other people across one of the largest online health networks in the UK.

What is HealthUnlocked?

HealthUnlocked is one of the leading online support networks, dedicated solely to health. Its aim is to bring patients and carers together with relevant experts and organisations in a safe, welcoming space.

Why are we moving the community to HealthUnlocked?

As a research charity, we know how important it is for people to support each other and the difference it can make to someone’s personal fight against heart disease. HealthUnlocked provides access to many more people and organisations where you can get support on a wide range of health topics - not just limited to heart disease.

We’ll still offer the same support we’ve always done, with our team of cardiac nurses and information officers on hand to answer your questions, say hello and offer practical and emotional support.

What is happening to the existing community? 

We are going to close the existing community on 29 June 2017. Unfortunately we won’t be able to keep the existing community open past this date as the technology will no longer be supported. 

Can I use my BHF community account details to log in to HealthUnlocked?

No, you will need to set up a new account on HealthUnlocked. You can keep the same username as long as no-one else on HealthUnlocked is already using it.

I already have an account on Health Unlocked

That’s great! Just follow the British Heart Foundation on HealthUnlocked.

What happens if I don’t want to join HealthUnlocked?

If you are no longer using the community, or don’t want to join HealthUnlocked then you don’t need to do anything. After 29 June, we will close your account.
