Don’t worry!
Many of these withdrawal symptoms are only temporary. And knowing what the symptoms are, how long they’re likely to last and how likely you are to be affected, can all help you really deal with them.


The symptoms

Increased appetite - likely to last more than ten weeks, affects 70%

Irritability and/or aggression - likely to last less than four weeks, it affects around 50% of people trying to give up.

Depression - less than four weeks, affects 60%

Restlessness - less than four weeks, affects 60%

Craving cigarettes - likely to last more than two weeks, affects 70%

Poor concentration - less than two weeks, affects 60%

Waking up in the night - less than one week, affects 25%

Light-headedness - lasts less than 48 hours, affects 10%
