Project Grants
Purpose:
For
short-term research projects lasting up to 3 years costing less
than £300,000.
Minimum criteria:
- The principal investigator will
usually be a post-doctoral researcher.
- The centre where the work is to be
pursued must be an established research institution in the UK
Duration of grant:
Up to 3 years.
Award may include:
- Staff (e.g. technician, research assistant, postdoctoral
salaries)
(N.B. excluding PhD studentships)
- Research consumables, directly attributable to the project
- Research equipment essential for the project

Number of copies required:
22 collated copies of the application form and supporting
information
Decision process:
There are no closing dates. Please submit the application when it
is ready. Receipt will be acknowledged within 1 month and we will
advise you when you can expect the result. A decision will be
reached by Project Grants Committee (4 meetings a year) after it
has considered external peer review reports. Allow 6 months from
submission to decision.
