Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers
The Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers
Scheme is an established programme run by the Academy of Medical
Sciences (AMS) in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust and the
British Heart Foundation.
We contribute funds to grants that are relevant to the
cardiovascular system.
The Scheme provides modest starter funds to help research active
Clinical Lecturers gather preliminary data, thereby increasing
their competitiveness on application for longer-term fellowships
and funding.
The maximum grant available is £30,000 which can be spread over
2 years to contribute towards research costs such as consumables
and equipment but not salary. There are two deadlines per year and
applications must be submitted to the AMS, not us.
