Team SOS - Support our science
Scientists we fund work tirelessly to find
new treaments for people with heart and circulatory disease, or
better ways to prevent or diagnose it.
But some also go the 'extra mile' for us by getting involved in
our fundraising events.
These scientists are our Team SOS - Support our
Science. They are helping us to raise the funds we need to
carry out our vital life-saving research.
Imperial
troopers
Members of our £8.9m Centre of Research
Excellence at Imperial College, London, are taking part in our
London to Brighton Bike Ride this June.
Cycling
for science
BHF Professor Andrew Baker, the man behind a world-leading clinical trial for heart bypass
patients, and his Glasgow colleague Dr Keith Oldroyd are taking
part in a gruelling cycle challenge to raise money for our Mending
Broken Hearts Appeal.
Fundraising
effort
Dr Pradeep Luther is an expert in the
proteins that pull together to make the heart beat. He is also
taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride this year
in Team SOS and fundraising for us.
Running for
research
Members of our four-year PhD group at the University of Manchester
recently took part in the Great Manchester Run as the 'Heart of
Manchester' team - they are still accepting donations on their
fundraising page.
