BHF overview

People stood in heart shape

The aim of the British Heart Foundation is to play a leading role in the fight against disease of the heart and circulation so that it is no longer a major cause of disability and premature death.

As the nation's heart charity, we do all we can to help hearts keep beating across the country. We do this by investing in world class research which focuses on the causes of heart disease and identifies potential new treatments which can help heart patients to have a better and longer life.

Each year 160,000 people survive a heart attack. Our BHF Nurses help heart patients when they need it most, by providing practical and emotional support in their own home. We also invest in education and care programmes which give heart patients, their families, communities and healthcare professionals the latest information and tools available to fight heart disease.
