Cardiac rehabilitation
Thousands of people go
through major heart surgery every year in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland.
But how many get the life-saving
cardiac rehabilitation they need to help their
recovery?
The results are in, and they’re damning.
Only 38% of
heart attack, angioplasty and bypass patients receive the cardiac
rehab they need, according to the latest National Audit of
Cardiac Rehabilitation 2009.
The number is even lower if you suffer from
heart failure or had an ICD fitted.
Cardiac rehab can be vital to recovery, and
costs as little as £600 per patient.
So many people across the UK are missing out -
you deserve more.
Help us make sure more people receive life-saving cardiac rehab
and join our National Campaign for Cardiac
Rehabilitation.
