Getting active gives Brian a new zest for
life
Brian Wilson, 57, Kilwinning, Scotland
Until recently Brain drank, ate an unhealthy diet and did little
physical activity.
But after giving up alcohol 12 months ago, the father-of-three
has discovered that getting active has transformed his life.
“I gave up alcohol, but when I got the alcohol out of my system
I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I decided to change my diet
and, ultimately, my lifestyle.”
Getting physically active has made a huge difference to Brian’s
health. He has seen a decrease in his blood
pressure and cholesterol levels.
"It gives me a life. I can do so much now and I'm able to do more
outdoor activities with my family."
Brian now does a range of activities. He cycles and swims
on a regular basis and his new found sense of motivation has
seen him rekindle his love of drumming. After 30 years he's
back on the road with his band.
Brian admits that it can be hard to stay on track but says his
activity-packed lifestyle has had a positive influence on members
of his family.
And there's been one big
bonus...
“I’ve also got enough energy now to keep up
with my grandchildren!”
