Active Fat
Is your lifestyle leaving you vulnerable to the dangers of
Active Fat?
Carrying excess weight around your middle is not healthy
for you and can increase your risk of getting
cancer, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. So we've teamed up with
Cancer Research UK and Diabetes UK to get the nation measuring
their waistlines this summer.
Risk of heart disease

Carrying too much fat around your middle is much more
dangerous to your heart than you might
think. Most people think it's carrying around all
that extra weight that puts strain on your heart, but it's
actually the fat cells themselves that are really active,
producing toxic substances that cause
damage which can lead to heart disease. This is why it is
referred to as ‘Active
Fat’.
Our video (on the right of this page) shows you how an ‘Active
Fat’ cell can cause serious damage in your arteries. After watching
the video, take the first step towards improving
your health by completing our quick and simple Lifestyle Check.
