Recycle and save lives
Did you know that this week is Recycling Week and you can
save lives by getting involved?
Take your bag of clothes to one of our 700 shops or recycle your
old phones and ink cartridges to support our life-saving work.
Here’s how:
You can recycle your old phones and ink cartridges through our
partner, the Recycling Factory,
who will donate up to £4.50 to our life-saving
work for every printer cartridge that can be successfully
recycled and between £5 and £30 for every mobile
phone that can be successfully recycled.
There are an estimated 90 million redundant mobile phones in
cupboards and drawers across the UK – most of which end up in
landfill sites which are harmful to the environment. And of the 65
million printer cartridges sold each year, only an estimated 15%
are recycled or reused. By recycling your mobile phone and printer
cartridges not only will you be helping to save and improve the
lives of those affected by heart disease, you’ll be helping the
environment too.
How to recycle
Phones and cartridges
You can request a freepost recycling envelope for donating
mobile phones and inkjet cartridges by emailing bhf@trf-uk.com or calling The Recycling
Factory on 0800 091 0696. Collection bins for
laser toner cartridges are also available to order. Visit our page
for more information.
Your unwanted items
Your unwanted clothes, books, cds, furniture and electrical
items can also be recycled in our BHF Shops. There are over 700 BHF
Shops across the UK which raised £31 million in the fight against
heart disease last year. Find your local BHF
Shop.
If you’re having a clear-out this Recycling Week remember to
recycle with us in mind and help to save lives!
