Cyclists ride through the dark to Mend Broken Hearts
Hundreds
of riders pedal from Manchester to Blackpool to raise funds for our
Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
This weekend marked our second Manchester to Blackpool
Night Ride with an impressive 1,000 cyclists taking part.
Our intrepid night riders set off at midnight from
Manchester’s Trafford Centre and, at 3.30am, the
first of the swathe of helmets, pedals and our t-shirts began
wheeling over the finish line under the light of the
Blackpool illuminations.
The cyclists passed through Lancashire, Wigan and Preston on the
52 mile moonlit route and helped to raise an astounding £165,000
for our vital work.
We would like to say a huge thank you to
everyone who took part. All money raised will go towards our
Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, a
ground-breaking research programme which aims to find a cure for
heart failure within a generation – giving hope to
millions of families worldwide.
