Our life-saving resources receive prestigious
awards
We’re celebrating after two of our
life-saving resources received a British Medical Association (BMA)
Patient Information Award. The awards are designed to recognise
accessible, well designed patient information.
Our prize-winning resources
Our Chest Pain Kit won
the Innovation Award. The kit is a fantastic
interactive training resource and contains everything trainers need
to raise awareness of heart attack signs and symptoms, what to do
if people are experiencing these symptoms and overcoming barriers
to phoning 999.
It's designed for people working in
community resuscitation, community first aid
responders and health promoters. The contents are highly flexible
and can be tailored to any audience and situation.
Our Straight from the
Heart resource which was created in conjunction with the
Children’s Heart Federation won the Long Term
Conditions award.
It's designed for teenagers with
heart conditions and aims to answer all of their questions
about their stay in hospital. Many young people and heart experts
were involved in creating the booklet which explains more about the
treatments, what a hospital stay involves, overcoming the fear of
an operation and how to get back to normal afterwards.
We were also shortlisted for our
One step at a time - living with heart failure DVD. The DVD
features six people telling you how they felt when they were told
they had heart failure. They tell you
about some of the small changes they made to help them live normal
lives and the DVD includes vital advice from our
medical experts.
