Alex ReidAlex Reid is warming up to go the distance

Mixed martial artist, Alex Reid, is about to take on the challenge of a lifetime - by running the Virgin London Marathon to help raise vital funds for us.

Alex will be donning his official BHF Heart Runners vest and running the 26.2 mile course on 22 April. He is hoping to raise as much money as possible to help us fight heart disease – the UK’s biggest killer.

I’m running for the BHF as my dad had a heart attack two years ago. I know firsthand how important heart health is

Alex says: “I’m running for the BHF as my dad had a heart attack two years ago and received fantastic care. I know first hand how important heart health is and I can’t wait to take on the challenge of running a marathon. I am delighted I can help raise awareness of heart disease and hopefully encourage lots of support and vital funds.”

You can help Alex reach his fundraising target and find out all his latest news.

Karen McDonnell, our Events Project Manager, said: "It’s only with the support of people like Alex, who challenge themselves to raise funds for us, that we will be able to beat heart disease.

"We wish all our Heart Runners the best of luck for the event and look forward to seeing you at the finish line."
