Children's Cardiac Nurses

Paediatric (Children's) Cardiac Liaison Nurses, PCLNs, provide long-term emotional support, information and practical advice for children with heart conditions and their families.

They are involved in:

• supporting patients and families before and
  after surgery,
• giving advice and information about long-term treatment,
• educating practice nurses to care for these children,
• providing services that enable families to have a more ‘normal' life, such as feeding clinics for babies with congenital heart problems.
