Hi, one effective way you can help deter young people from taking up smoking is to sign our online petition to ban cigarette vending machines...
http://campaigning.bhf.org.uk/ea-campaign/clientcampaign.do?ea.client.id=57&ea.campaign.id=1647

Every day, hundreds of young people are taking up smoking which, as John points out below, is a major risk factor for heart disease.

One in six children and young people in England who regularly smoke usually get their cigarettes from vending machines. That's why we're campaigning for an immediate ban.

Our online petition will go to to Health Ministers to ensure that a ban for England and Wales is announced in the Queen's Speech in Parliament on 3 December, and to support further legislation for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Thanks for your support. Let's put these machines 'Out of Order' once and for all.

My heart attack was caused largley by smoking, anything I can do to end this evil and life threatening practice is worth trying. I was luckt I survived but many don't. keep spreading the word, you will be called many names for your efforts but every sucsess means you have saves a life.
