Questions - Our advertising campaigns

I have suffered from heart related illness. Some of your adverts are very distressing.

It certainly isn’t our intention to cause distress or offence.

We do our research before committing to any advertising campaign. Our campaigns are a good way to get people’s attention and to deliver our very important message about heart disease.

We offer support not just to heart disease patients, but also their relatives and close friends. We think, and the people we talk to agree, that the education messages delivered by our campaigns are extremely relevant and important.

I have suffered from a heart attack and my experience has not been the same as those depicted in your ads

All of the people in our television, radio and print ads are people who have suffered from heart disease or have loved ones who have suffered from heart disease. Stories are real ones, as told by the people involved.

Everyone who experiences heart disease has a different story to tell, and by showing a range of stories in our campaigns we are hoping to show the many ways we can help.

What else do I need to know about the British Heart Foundation, how we fundraise and where the money goes?

We're open to any questions you might have about our organisation.
