Hearty Lives Newham
If you live in Newham, you’re more likely to
suffer from heart disease than people living in other areas of
London. So we’re investing £1.5 million in improving
the heart health of your community.
In partnership with NHS Newham and London
Borough of Newham, we’re offering:
- help for Eastern European women, teenagers and others to stop
smoking
- a cardiac nurse to help heart patients in their homes
- two nurse educators to teach local people more about heart
health
- training for school children in emergency life saving
skills
- free fitness and health programmes for young men, in
partnership with West Ham United Football Club
- heart health checks in community venues
Local West Ham United player Mark Noble was on
hand at one of our events to give advice eating and training as a
professional footballer. You can see an interview with him in
our new video.
