Understanding chest painchest pain kit illustration

Do you know what the signs and symptoms of a heart attack are? Do you work in health promotion or community training?

If you do, you could save your life, or the life of someone you love, by recognising the signs and calling 999.

You can use our chest pain kit as part of our Chest Pain Programme to spread the message of heart attack awareness to people all across the UK.

Calling 999 immediately when a heart attack is suspected will save lives and save heart muscle

Training with the chest pain kit

CPKThe chest pain kit is a fantastic training resource filled with all our chest pain information. It includes interactive training aids to help trainers deliver their sessions easily and effectively.

If you’re working in health promotion or community training then this resource is for you! We also offer free trainer's workshops to help you get the most out of using the chest pain kit.  If you'd like us to organise a workshop in your area, then please get in touch by emailing the team at chestpain@bhf.org.uk.

The chest pain kit can be delivered to a wide audience and aims to:

  • raise awareness of heart attack signs and symptoms
  • encourage people to phone 999 immediately if they experience these symptoms or see the signs in other people
  • help people overcome barriers to calling 999

Using the kit couldn’t be simpler. Everything you need is in one place - we’ve even provided some session guides to help you plan your training. We’ve made sure it’s flexible - you can follow our step-by-step guides, or use the kit in a way that suites your own style and audience.
