25 April 2010, with over 650 Heart Runners taking
part and running for the BHF.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and completed the
marathon!
Every one of our Heart Runners help us
move a step closer to finding a cure for the UK's biggest killer
- heart disease.
How to register for a BHF Charity Place in 2011
Our application system for our guaranteed
charity place for the Virgin London Marathon 2011 has now
opened.
Apply for a BHF Charity place now!
Our application process involves completing an online form with
some questions including why you would like to join the team and
what fundraising pledge you can commit to. As we only have a
limited number of guaranteed entry places (Charity Places), all
applications will be subject to a selection process. We'll contact
you in August by post to let you know if you have been successful.
All successful applicants will be required to pay a £50
registration fee and commit to the pledge stated in their
application form.
Have you already applied in the organisers' ballot?
There are 2 ways to gain a place in the Virgin London Marathon
2011. You can gain a place with a charity (a guaranteed Charity
Place or 'golden bond') and you can also apply for a place in the
organisers' ballot.
The Virgin London Marathon ballot opened on Tuesday 4
May 2010 and closed when it reached 125,000 entrieds. The
Virgin London Marathon official ballot results will be announced
in the first week of October 2010. Visit the organisers
website for more information.
You can also apply for one of our
Charity Places now to double your chances of
getting a place. If you are very lucky and receive a Charity Place
from BHF in addition to your Own Place (ballot place) from the
organisers we will be able to refund your registration fee. And the
great news is that you can still be a Heart Runner if you gain your
Own Place!
