Get your heart racing on this challenging cycle through
rural England to the exciting and vibrant city of
Amsterdam!
This fantastic bike ride will take you through beautiful English
countryside, across the Channel and into the delightful landscapes
of Holland with its famous windmills and
tulips before reaching the finish line in the heart of the
capital city - Amsterdam.
The ride sets off from our start point in Stansted and
from here we cycle deep into the rolling Essex
countryside through rich agricultural areas and
historic country villages.
During our first day of cycling we will experience the
peace and tranquility of rural England before
reaching the port of Harwich to board the ferry to the
Hook of Holland.
Our first taste of cycling in the Netherlands
takes us on to the North Sea Cycle
Route past picturesque sand dunes as
it follows the coastline through old fishing
villages and nature reserves.
The following day the route takes us past old
fortresses and polders (large inland
lakes) before we have our first sighting of the windmills for which
Holland is famous.
Passing through picturesque villages, including a stop near
Edam, we continue along the famous
canals as we approach Amsterdam. We cycle through the old
centre of town towards De Waag, one of the oldest
remaining buildings in the city wall from the Middle
Ages. Here we cross the finish line and celebrate the end
of this truly memorable ride!
