Towering Success!
The Tower of London Jog took place on Wednesday 6th May with a record breaking 2000+ people signing up to complete the 1-10km challenge around the historic moat. It was an amazing day with plenty of glorious sunshine.
Bruce Byron, DCI Terry Perkins in The Bill, was there to offer his support along with a heart warming welcome from the Tower of London’s Resident Governor, Major General Keith Cima CB and BHF’s very own Chief Executive, Peter Hollins and Fundraising Director, Aneesha Moreira. Bruce Byron was then joined by the Tower of London’s Yeoman Gaoler to cut the ribbon and the crowd were off.
Event Manager, Melanie Blackman was overwhelmed with the turnout. She said: ‘A huge thank you to everyone whose support and enthusiasm helped to make the event such a phenomenal success. The event is so very special and unique and it’s fantastic to see so many people joining in the fun and working so hard to raise sponsorship. Only together can we can beat heart disease.’
The fundraising heroes who took part in the event are now being urged to send in their sponsorship money and forms. If you haven’t already done so, setting up your online sponsorship page is quick and easy. Simply go to www.justgiving.com/bhf and follow the on-screen instructions.
Last year’s jog raised £100,000 in essential life saving funds but with your help we can do even better this year. Highly coveted trophies are available to top individual and team fundraisers presented at our annual Tower of London awards ceremony in the New Year. To qualify for an award please ensure your sponsor money has been sent to us by Monday 7 September.
