Fitness First

Fitness FirstFitness First, the leading Health and Fitness group, chose us as its charity partner in a three year partnership from November 2007 to October 2010.  The partnership has raised over £200,000 to date.

Beating heart disease together

Fitness First staff and customers have helped raise vital funds for us through;

  • Staff fundraising - Each Fitness First club had a fundraising target to beat which they all embraced by getting involved with our events, taking part in sky-dives and organising club based events such as spin-a-thons.
  • Red for Heart – staff supported our annual fundraising campaign as part of National Heart Month by going Red.
  • Point of Sale – throughout the partnership all clubs sold a range of products for us including locker tokens and pin badges.

Partnership impact

  • Fitness First and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) were the perfect fit for getting the UK active and healthy.  The partnership has helped to raise awareness of issues surrounding heart health across Fitness First’s 170 clubs and 440,000 members in the UK.
  • The partnership has raised a fantastic £200,000 to date for us which has helped us to continue our life-saving work.
  • The partnership achieved 67 press cuttings across consumer, trade and regional media.

"Following our successful partnership with the British Heart Foundation in 2010, which raised £10,000 for the Red for Heart campaign, we are delighted to be again supporting the BHF during National Heart Month in 2011. We are aiming to continue our fundraising efforts this year through sales of Heart Warming Soup, our limited edition February Soup of the Month. The soup is very tasty way towards getting your five-a-day and contains juicy plum tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, celery and lentils, and funds raised through its sales will go towards supporting the Mending Broken Hearts appeal.” Emily Sweetland, Partnerships and Marketing Executive, Fitness First
