Lloydspharmacy

LloydspharmacyLloydspharmacy and BHF are working in partnership for two years until December 2012. Together we are pledging to raise £250,000 for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal through staff and customer fundraising.

As a national community pharmacy and healthcare provider, the health and wellbeing of Lloydspharmacy’s customers is a top priority seeing the launch of a range of products aimed at improving community health such as affordable blood pressure monitors, as well as a suite of convenient professional health check services including free blood pressure and cholesterol and heart checks.

Lloydspharmacy saw partnering with the BHF as a natural step in caring for the nation’s heart health.

With over 1,640 pharmacies across the UK, Lloydspharmacy’s 17,000 colleagues have so far raised a fantastic £122,000 towards the target.

Beating heart disease together

The partnership launched with a company-wide Wear Red to Work day in February 2011 and fundraising has gone from strength to strength since then. Pharmacies held 50th Birthday parties to celebrate the BHF’s birthday, celebrated World Heart day in September, and have recently dressed up in their scariest outfits for Halloween. Employees have taken part in the BHF’s famous London to Brighton Bike Ride, Great North Run, London Marathon and have even been jumping out of planes to raise money. Central support colleagues have been holding product auctions, dressing up and held a staff ball in aid of the partnership in September.

I was very impressed by the passion and enthusiasm within your team

Staff have been able to visit the research centre at Birmingham University to see for themselves how the money they are raising is helping those affected by heart disease. Iqbal Gill, Regional Director for Lloydspharmacy said: "The depth of challenges faced and the need for ongoing support to help continue your work was very apparent. I would also like to add, how very impressed I was by the passion and enthusiasm within your team, both for their individual work, but also the passion for the team as a whole".

Lloydspharmacy is at the heart of every community and is committed to improving the health of their customers. The partnership with the BHF is a perfect fit, and we will be supporting each other to deliver our key campaigns during 2012.
