In June 2008, Lloyds
TSB colleagues voted in record numbers to make the BHF its chosen
Charity of the Year.
Originally the partnership was to last for two years.
However, it was later confirmed that we would benefit from an
extension of the partnership for a further 6 months until 31st
December 2010 - making the BHF the Group's longest-ever
Charity of the Year partner.
Beating heart disease together
Lloyds Banking Group employees have helped raise vital funds and
awareness for the BHF through:
- Staff fundraising: Employees around the country have rallied in
force to raise vital funds for the BHF. It is thanks to their hard
work, enthusiasm and commitment that the partnership has been such
a success to date.
- Bespoke event program: In January 2010 the Lloyds Banking Group
Do-It programme was launched, which promoted participation in BHF
Events across the country and raised awareness of the importance of
keeping your heart healthy through exercise. To date over 700
employees have taken part in a Lloyds Banking Group Do-It
event.
- Lloyds TSB Foundation Colleague Matched Giving Scheme: The LTSB
Foundations will match funds raised by employees for the BHF up to
£500 per person. Over £140,000 in matched giving has already been
received.
- Point of Sale – Branches of Lloyds TSB, Halifax and Bank of
Scotland have sold Trolley keyrings, Reindeer Food and pin
badges.
- The BIG Donation – To date an incredible 2,464 returned bags
from employees have been reported amounting to a possible £49,280
for BHF shops.
We have also empowered Lloyds Banking Group staff to take steps
to look after their own heart health by:
- Heart Matters – 87,000 office based employees have received
direct access to our Heart Matters membership, helping to raise
awareness of how they can live with a healthy heart.
Partnership impact
- Together with Lloyds Banking Group the BHF have created a
tailored, engaging and motivating staff fundraising programme which
to date has raised over £2.7 million for the BHF.
- The monies already raised by Lloyds Banking Group have helped
to fund 15 BHF Heart Nurses in communities across the UK,
supporting more than 8,400 heart patients.
- The further commitment to raise another £1 million during 2010
will fund 12 new community-based heart health professionals who
will provide invaluable support for up to 6,000 patients and their
families.
- To date the partnership has received a total of 226 press
cuttings in national, consumer, trade and regional media This
has a equivalent advertising value for print coverage of £461,620
with 38,126,936 opportunities to see by the public.
