Land Securities
Land Securities’ Retail
Portfolio teamed up with us to raise funds and awareness of heart
disease amongst customers, colleagues and centre staff. With a
shared hope that this will have a positive impact on
local communities and leave a legacy of improved health for people
in the area.
The company’s 24 shopping centres are working closely with us
(as their chosen charity of the year until March 2012). They
have supported our Big Donation campaign since 2009, helping to
collect over 31,000 bags of donated stock from customers and
employees. Since joining forces more than half a million
pounds worth of donated stock has been collected, which
has been sold in BHF shops to raise
vital funds. In addition to this over £40,000 has been raised
through fundraising events in centres including Love Note Walls,
wear red days, Christmas collections
and skydiving.
During National Heart Month,
Land Securities offered the Piccadilly Lights as
an exciting proposal opportunity for one lucky lady. Jessica Lee
from Chelmsford celebrated Leap Day in style by publically
proposing to her boyfriend Christian Bailey via the ultimate Love
Note on London’s Piccadilly Lights. Traditionally women can only
propose to their partners on a leap year and Jessica’s risk paid
off with Christian accepting her hand in marriage.
Today is about the best things in life and that is celebrating love and happiness
Land Securities’ Mike
Davidson, who leads on the partnership with BHF, says: “We are so
pleased to have made this couple’s day even more special and
momentous by offering the opportunity to Jessica to propose on the
Piccadilly Lights, which is one of the world’s most iconic sights.
Today is about the best things in life and that is celebrating love
and happiness while putting the spotlight on the lucky couple and
the nation’s heart charity during National Heart Month.”
