Knowing where to begin can seem daunting, but our tips will get you started and make your fundraising a success.

There are lots of fun and easy ways to fundraise. Our great ideas will inspire you whatever your fundraising goal.

Get asking

  • Group FundraisersCreating an online sponsorship page is quick and easy. Tell everyone about it using your email signature, Facebook and Twitter. 
  • Do a public collection with a few friends. You could even do it in fancy dress!
  • Ask for sponsorship donations instead of birthday presents.

Host an event

  • Woman cheeringHost a dinner party and ask for donations from guests.
  • Organise a swimathon, aerobathon, sponsored silence or even beard shaving.
  • Organising a sports day is a great way to get pulses racing. We've prepared a step-by-step guide to help you.
  • Hold a quiz night and get teams to enter and drum up some competition!
  • Organise an evening event or big bash, such as a dinner dance, barn dance or black tie ball. A raffle and table collections will help boost funds too.
  • Arrange a non-uniform day at school, and get pupils to donate a pound to wear their own clothes.
  • Invite friends and family to a BBQ, and play party games or organise a raffle to raise funds.
  • Hold a cricket match or 5-a-side football tournament and charge for entry and post-match refreshments. You could pit staff, clients, departments or neighbours against each other! Organise a treasure hunt and charge £25 per car to enter.
  • Run a sweepstake for big sporting events like the Grand National or Wimbledon. 
  • Hosting a a raffle can be quick, easy and fun, but there are legal implications to consider.
  • Whatever you do you can decorate your venue with BHF balloons and stickers, to show people that all proceeds go to the BHF.

Work for donations

  • Charity BucketWash your neighbours' cars in return for donations. 
  • Spend a day bag packing at your local supermarket.
  • Offer a spring cleaning service for a month – clean up 5 of your friends' and families' homes for a donation
  • Provide a taxi service for friends - this could be popular during the festive period.

Sell to raise funds

  • Make greetings cards and sell them to friends, family or even at craft fairs.
